Cruze Farm

Saturday morning we woke and realized for the first time in a long time, we had nothing planned for the day. It felt great- we didn't have to be anywhere at a certain time, or get anything done so we decided to spend the day just enjoying each other.
We took our time and finally decided to head to Cruze Farm Corn Maze. Cruze Farm is a local dairy; we visited their corn maze and pumpkin patch last year and had fun, so we decided to head out there again. Apparently it was at least 15 degrees cooler there, but despite the chilly temps, we had an awesome time. Mason and Reagan loved the corn box and seeing the farm animals. Overall it was just a great way to spend time together. It's not the biggest pumpkin patch and it doesn't have the slides and bounce houses that others have. But for some reason, we always have a great time there. I think it reminds me that we don't have to have to be constantly entertained, it's the simple things sometimes that bring the biggest smiles.

Reagan trying to drive one of the kid tractors. T
hose things were tough to get moving, but they both enjoyed scooting along in them!

Mason loved making it rain corn on himself.
Sometimes I wonder what I am going to do with that boy :)
 This picture melts my heart.
He was truly in his element- just relaxing, enjoying himself.
I love that Mason and Reagan are looking at each other rather than me. I think they are discussing how many pictures I had already taken of them. HA!
Sitting in the tractor wheel. nothing better.
 Another favorite from the day.
Reagan enjoyed her warm chocolate at the milk bar. She kept saying "no one's behind me mom" she was very proud to sit in the tall stool by herself.
They had balls randomly located around the farm.
He looks so old in this picture. Is he really growing up that fast.
Slow down, Mase. I'm not ready.
Next up...Halloween night!

Trunk or Treat

Last night we headed to our church for Trunk or Treat. We met up with some friends from school so the kids could spend some time together (it's nice company for the parents too!)  This year Mason decided to be a robot and Reagan wanted to be Hello Kitty. I made Mason's costume and am really excited with how it came out. (I had great inspiration from some Seattle friends!) Reagan's was pretty easy. I bought the hat and tutu on Etsy. I figured she could wear the hat this winter, and I have the feeling the tutu will get a lot of wear- Reagan calls it her bewtiful skirt!

Reagan, Elias, and Mason getting ready to head out.

My sweet little Hello Kitty.

I can't get enough of this robot.

It's hard to see but it lights up in the front.
Probably the feature I am most proud of!

Reagan in action. There weren't many people who could resist her cuteness.
Leo, Elias, and Mason. Three stooges.

Love Overload.

He was so happy with his costume!

She has him wrapped around her little hello kitty finger.

We can't wait for Halloween!

Art of Animation

I know it seems silly to dedicate an ENTIRE post to a resort, but it was Ah-Mazing and I felt it was necessary. Art of Animation is divided into four sections: Cars, Finding Nemo, Lion King, and the Little Mermaid. My goal was to take an afternoon and walk all the different sections, but we ran out of time (we'll do it next time). Warning: this post is picture overload.

You literally walk into each movie.  We stayed in Cars. (Do you need to even ask why) And we loved it. Walking towards the section was like walking down the street in Radiator Springs.

I love Sheriff hiding under the Radiator Springs billboard.

It had three buildings: The Wheel Well Motel (that we stayed in)...

Luigi's Casa Della Tires...

and Tow Mater's Towing and Salvage.

In the middle was the Cozy Cone Motel.
It included the pool with Cone huts to sit under and the laundry room.
I didn't get a picture of the pool- but it was so cool (in the words of Reagan)

All the main characters were present.

Ramone!

Sarge

Mater

look at those details! The kids were in heaven.

McQueen

Sally

Fillmore

I love all his stickers, so we got a front and back shot.

Guido (pitstop!)

Luigi

Doc Hudson

And Sheriff.
(Flo was also there, but somehow I didn't get her picture- like I said- there is always next time!)

Leaving Cars- looking into Finding Nemo. And the BIRDS! (mine.mine.mine)

The lobby had sketches of so many scenes from all the movies.
This was Mason's favorite. He sat in front of it all the time.

Mason was showing Reagan some of the other movie scenes.
He was not a fan of Ursula (so I think he was giving her the lowdown)

The Pool at Finding Nemo was awesome. It was HUGE, in the middle of the resort, and had so many amazing details. The School Yard splash pad area was a lot of fun. It featured Nemo, his dad and all his school friends. Mason and Reagan both loved this area. At one point I thought do we even need to go to a park?!? Pure. Heaven.

She loved getting wet and would stick her head under the fountains and come up laughing!

Mason kept saying "it's summer, it's summer!"

I think Mason's expression says it all. We had the time of our lives.

I can't end without saying a HUGE thank you to my friend, Becca for all her advice and help with our trip.I couldn't have gotten it all together without you.
okay. done.
