Spring Break

This past week the kids had Spring Break- we headed to my folks house for the first half of the week and then the Holt's came to visit for the second half. It was a great week and the best part- I stayed off the grid for the most part and it was great. I love taking a little time away from facebook and getting to really enjoy my life.

We went to an Easter Egg Hunt while at my parents. It was rainy so it was inside but the kids had a blast and the best part- Reagan got a fan (like Sofia the first) When we got ready to leave, Mason said, "we always do the same thing at grandma and grandpa's...play, play, play." Needless to say they had a blast.

Such a proud big brother.

 Ohh the fan.

We came back Tuesday night and the Holt's came up on Wednesday. I LOVE seeing cousin time- it brings back some great memories with Billy and Jenny.  The kids had a sleepover in Mason's room- it was Reagan's first one and she did awesome sleeping through the night on the futon.  She was so happy to hang with the big kids.

On Friday, we headed to Dollywood. It was our first time going to Dollywood and the kids were in heaven. Mason rode the Shooting Star and they both rode the kiddy rollercoaster! I was one proud mama. Reagan's favorites were the Country Fair rides- look at that smile. Could she be happier?

Everytime she went by she waved and said, "hi, mom."

It was a bit cold and wet so Mason and Thomas had their hoods on the entire time.

So proud of Mason- he is growing up so fast.
Before the cousins left we snapped a few pictures. And Aunt Les photobombed one!

Enjoying a sunny afternoon backyard egg hunt.
Today, we headed to our church for their Easter Egg Hunt. We met up with some friends there and the kids had a blast. Reagan again only hunted for pink and purple eggs and even checked brothers basket to see if he had any pink she needed to confiscate.

That was our Spring Break in a post! Happy Easter and welcome April! We are looking forward to sunny days, warmer weather and Reagan turning T-H-R-E-E!

Picture Day

Last Wednesday, M & R had picture day at school. I love that this year they are in the same school- they got to take individual pictures, pictures with their class AND pictures together. I can't wait to see them. But just in case one isn't smiling, I thought I do a mini picture day at home. Here are some of my faves!

I don't think I have a serious picture of the two of them together- they always play off of each other and make the other one smile but I have to say, I love their serious side too.
AND these are the silly faces I am used to seeing!
This one has to be one of my favorites. I don't need to see their faces to know they will always look out for each other.

Reagan wouldn't hold still for a singles shot, but Mason, those blue eyes are amazing.
I love them, bub.
My two favorite people in the world.

March Madness

I know it's been a while since I blogged. I seriously need at least 3 more hours in each day and I just haven't found it yet. One day things will slow down, right? I have the feeling it will come when I am old and my kids are grown and then I will yearn for the speed. So I'll enjoy the ride, learn to live on less sleep, and let things go a little.

Here's our last two weeks in pictures.

Unless you live under a rock- you know Reagan LOVES Doc McStuffins. We know have 3 shirts, 6 pairs of socks, 7 pairs of undies, a skirt, AND (drum roll please) Doc's headband. A great friend made it for Reagan and she is so excited with it. I love how it looks and can't wait for her birthday to see everything together. She just happened to be wearing a doc shirt on the day Julie dropped it off.
Mason started T-Ball a couple of weeks ago and he is loving it. We have been practicing at home every chance we get and he is getting better. More than anything we just want him to have FUN and enjoy learning how to do something new. His first game will be in April- can.not.wait.
I think this face shows he is having a blast!
For Leprechaun Day (aka St. Patty's day) Mason was Mason O'Marlowe! We celebrated on Friday (at school), Saturday with corned beef and cabbage and again on Sunday when our leprechaun came to visit. Which is when I was informed leprechaun's make a mess- so Mason went around all day on Sunday "looking" for the leprechaun's mess.
Today, Reagan had her Easter Egg Hunt at school. She looks so grown up in the picture! She was really excited to wear her bunny dress with her bunny ear hair! And she got to see the Easter Bunny.
Got to love that girl.

La Vida Loca

I feel like the last two weeks have been nothing but a blur in my mind. Life has been crazy busy and when I stop to think about it; it wares me out all over again. But notable things happened during those two weeks that- I do want to remember.
It all started with the Circus. (You can read about that here).
The next morning Mason had his kindergarten assessment for SJN.  (We still haven't heard back but when I do, I'll write more about it) And we celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday!

That afternoon, I left for Asheville and ADPI's DLC DII. It was a great weekend with my sisters, but exhausting- my roomie and I must have thought we were back in college because we stayed up both nights until 2:30 in the morning talking (and we had to get up early the next days) my poor body has not seen those type of nights in a long time.I got home on Sunday and started to get back into our normal routine. Then Thursday hit, Reagan had a Barium Enema schedule to hopefully find some answers to her tummy issues. (I haven't written much about her belly because honestly, I don't want her to hate me for writing a blog about her childhood when she is older) So I'll leave it at tummy issues. She did awesome. She is an extremely strong little girl and I can't wait to see all the amazing things she will do in the future.  She loved her "You rocked your enema gift- a Tangled doll!"

The FOLLOWING night, my two besties from college came up for the George Strait concert- Abby had pictures of George hanging in her dorm every year. So when I heard his farewell tour was coming to Knoxville, I knew we needed to go! It was great spending an evening with them that lasted way into the early morning (seriously two weekends in a row?!?!?)

In the midst of all this- the yuck that has been going around finally caught up with us. I thought I was just tired, but then the sore throat, yuckiness kicked in. Instead of sleeping- I caught up on some sewing. (I know I have a problem but I just needed to get some stuff done) At least Reagan's Doc McStuffins shirt is complete.

Sunday and Monday I had meetings at UT so Steve pulled single parent duties again. (I won't even count how many nights this made in the past two weeks he had the kids alone) He is an awesome dad and wonderful husband and I can't thank him enough for supporting me and all my volunteering madness. And I love that I came home to Steve and the kids baking cookies.

So I took Thursday to play catch up- on laundry, the house, getting everything back in order. And I look over to see Reagan mastering her Doc McStuffin's puzzle by herself.  She was so proud of herself and I just stopped. Stopped rushing, stopped multitasking to enjoy this accomplishment with her.

And then this happened and honestly in that moment, I couldn't thank God enough for all the blessings in my busy, crazy, wonderful life.

My cup runs over.

March Snow

I woke up Wednesday, hurried to shower and get the kids ready for school when Steve announces- school is delayed an hour. Laughing I asked why and he replied- "it snowed last night."
Really?
So I went and checked and sure enough there it was. I am so ready for Spring.  The kids did however, enjoy getting out one last time and playing in our free hour before school!
