The love of my life- 5 years later

Someday, when I'm awfully love
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.

Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart...
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.

Lovely ... Never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won't you please arrange it ?
'Cause I love you ... Just the way you look tonight.

Happy Anniversary, Steve. Thanks for being my best friend and my partner in life. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

Day with Dad

Steve decided to take Tuesday off to hang out with us (his mom was in town visiting) and both Reagan and I had doctors appointments so I decided to plan something fun. I always get to do awesome outings with Mason- museums, the zoo, parks, but on the weekends these things are always over crowded so we tend to avoid them. Since it was a weekday we decided to head to the local kids museum (a Mason favorite) for dad to experience his son's total excitement over little things. It was a great day- Mason ran from the water area, to the light brite wall, to the train set- showing off all the cool things he enjoys to his buddy, Dad. My heart melted- I got to sit back and watch my two favorite guys bond over trucks and boats. Mason was so proud of all the things "he" got to show dad and together they conquered the tree house. (something I had not attempted especially since I have been pregnant for almost all of our outings to the museum.

I can't say it enough- my cup runneth over. I have two amazing kids and a wonderful, support husband who loves spending time with us and introducing our little guy to so many new things. I feel blessed that Steve works for a company that gives dad's a month paternity leave. He is taking his in June and I can't wait for us to be able to spend time together- enjoying the weather and all that Seattle has to offer when the sun comes out. Plus, having an extra set of hands will help since I am out numbered. HA!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the museum:

Dad and Mason at the water table- this is seconds before Mason turned the pipe toward himself and he was covered in water!

Looking down from the tree house.

Pointing out mom from the tree house- once he was up there, he didn't want to come down!

Mason showing dad how to ride Rody!

Note the trucks in his hands. Mason is in love with cars and trucks. He carries them everywhere- no matter what he is doing.

The Farm

Today, we took Mason and Reagan to a local park/farm to soak up some sun and hang out with some farm animals. Our playgroup has met at the park a couple of times but Steve has never gone with us before so I was excited to see his reaction to Mason and the animals. For over an hour, Mason just ran from animal to animal pointing, laughing, and calling for dad to come look. I loved it. Steve's mom is here visiting and I think she enjoyed seeing Mason in action as well. Sweet Reagan slept through the entire outing, but I was able to snap a picture of her sleeping in their new double stroller.

Mason discovered pine cones and was excited to collect some for the horses.

Checking out the horses.
This one is my favorite. I love his expression. He's watching the horses run around.
Look MA, a sheep!

Chickens!

2 weeks later...

I love watching Mason and Reagan form their new relationship. I can't believe how fast he fell in love with his baby sister and how much he wants to be around her. I feel bad sometimes that I can't spend more one on one time with Mase, but then I see how happy he is when he gets to hold Reagan, or hand her the binky, and then I realized that as much as I miss my one on one time, Mason is enjoying having a sibling. Look at the love in those eyes. He is totally smitten.

Seattle has had SUN! So we took Reagan out in the papasan chair- she enjoyed the fresh air and even decided to stay awake!
But of course, sleeping is our favorite thing to do. Here she is chillaxen on the mini boppy :)

Have a great weekend!

Family Pics

Yes we are still alive. Sorry I have been a blogging slacker. Life with two is going well, just busy and I find my free time is now taken up by nursering, pumping, and changing diapers (times two!) BUT I love it. Mason and Reagan are getting along great. He loves her so much and even tries to give her a binky when she starts to get fussy.

My cup runeth over.
I couldn't ask for more and my heart couldn't be more full.

When Reagan was 4 days old (last Sunday- the one before Mother's day) we had a photographer come over to capture some newborn shots of Reagan, siblings shots and our first family pics as four. Although I was stressing before she got there- what fits a mom four days after having a baby?!?- they turned out great. Our photographer was amazing- she was so sweet, very patient with our kiddos and made me feel at ease. She posted her sneak peak of our shoot on her website, but here are my three favorites. I should get the full collection in about a week so I will post more then. http://jsheltonphotography.blogspot.com/2010/05/little-angel-kirkland-area-photographer.html
